So c’est la vie! This is the key to my life right now, and all the events that have transpired in the last month are the complete synthesis of such a realization. It is what it is. In the last few months I’ve done the following: ended a 3 year embargo on my father, come out to the majority of my family, lost 2% body fat, and realized the gravity of a second chance to live life right. All thanks to free time enjoyment via unemployment.

In the hours before my farewell party, I realize that chances in life to better one’s self, to learn from our past mistakes, and not to let new opportunities go unexplored come few and far between. When they present themselves we need to lunge forward and grasp them as if they were the last drop of water in the greatest drought. Chances, revival, reflection, growth, change. These are things we not only take for granted, but fear within the depths of our souls. Fear not though. This is who we are as humans. Evolution, change, adaptation. We would be nothing without these elements. Yet, the comforts of society have put us in a place to completely run away from these truths.

After all the travel and exploration there are 2 big things that I’ll never take for granted again. First and foremost, its love. And in a close second, stability. Day in and day out we take these two essential things for granted on par with clean drinking water. We abuse the people we love the most, and we abuse the Earth & societies that take us out of the savage equation that is the natural world.

In celebration I leave you with this amazing guilt-free recipe, that so quickly and effortlessly streamed from my subconscious.

I’m calling it: Love is All Around Us

Love is All Around Us

handful of whole wheat spaghetti

1 c hunks of broccoli

1/4 c frozen peas

1/4 c sliced carrots

1/2 c hunks of paneer cheese

2 cloves of garlic, chopped

2-3 tbsp olive oil

dash & sprinkles of salt, pepper, red pep per, & tarragon
1. Boil pasta in seasoned water, when al dente, add veggies.

2. In a separate bowl, combine cheese, spices, olive oil.

3. Strain pasta and veggies, on low heat add all the ingredients in the bowl. Stir it up for a couple of minutes, and have that little orgasm you know you need!
